Organic foods: Are they safer or more nutritious?
This recent article, from The Mayo Clinic, is a good starting point for anyone considering the differences between organic foods and their traditionally grown counterparts.
Some important things the article doesn’t mention:
- Organic foods are better for the environment, farm workers, and consumer because they reduce pesticide exposure.
- Many pesticides used on fruits are systemic, meaning they circulate throughout the tree and fruit, and can not be washed off or peeled.
